The main goal of kids MMA is to get kids active and moving while learning the fundaments of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Kids MMA is an exciting self-defense system for children. The system combines the powerful and the basics from striking skills of Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Self Defence, ground work and very importantly STRANGER DANGER. Children will not only learn to defend themselves but more importantly they will build self-confidence, self-discipline and the positive attitude necessary to become a successful young adult.
This program will increase the child’s concentration, coordination and fitness level. These skills are invaluable in helping your child reach other goals in daily life. Your child will learn from highly trained instructors in complete safety.

What is BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU (BJJ)?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling with the goal of gaining a dominant position, using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent to submit. The main emphasis in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is to dominate the opponent through application of technique and force them to quit (submit). It promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can be trained for self-defense, sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition. Sparring commonly referred to as ‘rolling’, and live drilling play a major role in training. By using the techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a smaller practitioner, male or female, can control much larger and stronger opponents and actually force the larger opponent to submit.
Jiu Jitsu literally translates to, “the gentle art.” The philosophy is that not only can you, but that you actually should, learn to avoid the use of strength. The individual should be able to obtain a position of dominance without using their strength, rather than immediately attempting to make the opponent submit.
What is MMA (Mixed Martial Arts)?
MMA is exactly what it says: fighters competing in a sport where they choose to train from a selection of Martial Arts and Combat Sports to prepare them for competition, as well as to improve their fitness and challenge their physical and mental goals. It really is that straightforward.
Within MMA you will learn: striking, grappling and ground work.
You can find examples of these aspects below:
- Striking – Muay Thai, Boxing, Taekwondo
- Grappling and Groundwork – Wrestling, Sambo, Judo, Jiu Jitsu
Some Martial Arts are certainly studied and practised in more detail than others, but something can be taken from each and every Art and this is what can give a fighter the edge..
What is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga is the most devastating fighting system / Self Defence or protection system in the world. Krav Maga is not a sport, it is a system based on principles and concepts. In Krav Maga, you’ll learn to defeat unarmed attackers, rapidly resolve ground fights, and deal with knives and guns. Additionally, you’ll learn how to debilitate your opponent rapidly irrespective of his size, training background or experience level. Most importantly the system can be learned quickly and applied under extreme stress.
The system is based on simple and reflexive moves that work when you need them to. As a constantly evolving system the effectiveness of techniques is constantly tested, evaluated and developed. There are different styles of Krav Maga. Going from a hit & run system to the real deal. There is no doubt about the fact that Krav Maga originated in Israel. It is also a fact that Krav Maga has evolved so much from one style that it is difficult to say which style is the best. In fact, this can only be proven in a life threatening situation. It is a fact that Krav Maga isn’t about a lot of techniques, kata’s and fancy moves. “If it looks great, it’s probably not Krav Maga”. Krav Maga is raw, brutal, fast, and effective.
